Job Description
Primary Function:
Provides financial management and leadership to the organization in support of company meeting its strategic and financial goals. Takes appropriate actions to ensure that company’s risk is minimized, and profits are maximizedOversees all company’s accounting activities and provides management analysis that allows for forward thinking in support of company meeting projected goals or taking course corrections as necessary.  Prepares financial forecasts, including annual operating budgets, financial projects and cash flow projects. Ensures company’s process are documented clearly with standardized processes and procedures.
Major Responsibility:
1.     Provides organization with the bigger picture view of the financial health of company and the impact of current actions/results as they relate to future profitability / liquidity.
2.     Responsible for all accounting functions within the company, and company’s adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Responsible for evaluating and implementing accounting systems, policies and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency within accounting department.  
3.     Responsible for staff meeting their goals and objectives at a high level of effectiveness.
  1. Responsible for annual internal audit and preparation of tax docs for CPA, as well as all banking relationships, and all insurance renewals, securing adequate coverage, with lowest rates.
5.     Provides management with accurate and timely analysis of organizations financial status and progress – these should reflect historical as well as future trends.
6.     Interfaces with project managers on “costs to complete” and monthly WIP adjustment.  Provides financial management support on projects as needed.
  1. Fosters an enthusiastic, creative, "can do" attitude, and shares the responsibility for the Company and accounting department success in reaching its goals.
  2. Oversee HR initiatives, systems, and tactics and keep up to date on current HR trends including regulations and compliance requirements.
  3. Manages Payroll including Paid Time Off, 401k, and Insurance (Health and GL).
Skills and Experience:
·      Bachelor’s degree in business and / or finance
·      Five to eight years of experience as Controller in Construction Company with extensive job costing experience
·      Extensive working knowledge of Construction accounting Software, including Sage 100 and job management functions within software
·      Possesses strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and dashboard reporting and projections.
·      Extensive prior experience in AP, AR, (including schedule of values), Payroll, and all matters relating to producing accurate, time and reliable financial and job costing information.
·      Strong management and leadership skills a must
·      Is detail oriented and able to focus on the big picture at the same time
·      Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
·      Works well under tight deadlines and able to multi-task effectively
·      Likes to be challenged, results oriented team player who is organized
·      Able to take coaching and feedback constructively
·      Willing and able to take 12 hours of continuing education per year
