We focus exclusively on residential design, helping clients create beautifully functional spaces with custom cabinetry and tailored finishes. We’re looking to add a proactive and self-directed Senior Designer to our team who specializes in furniture and product specification with experience leading and executing interior remodel and furniture projects in a small business setting. Success in this role looks like managing projects independently and with confidence, building strong vendor relationships, and delivering thoughtful, well-executed designs that delight clients. This role offers room to grow in leadership, responsibility, and creative ownership as the firm evolves. The Senior Interior Designer is responsible for executing our residential interior and furnishings projects once the overall design direction has been established by the Principal Designer. This individual will oversee project development, product specification and pricing, client communication, vendor coordination, and overall project implementation while ensuring an elevated and seamless client experience. This is a client-facing, project-driven role for someone who thrives in both creative design and detailed execution. What You’ll Do Develop cohesive design concepts using Programa, and other digital tools. Present designs and selections clearly and confidently to clients Source furniture, décor, and interior selections according to the design vision and bring clients to key decision points Collaborate closely with the owner, cabinetry studio, and drafting support to deliver accurate plans and construction documentation Create detailed schedules and proposals with pricing and product specifications Manage design timelines and client approvals Visit project sites periodically to ensure design details are being implemented correctly Participate in final project installation, photo shoots and styling Work with operations to create estimates and proposals for new projects Collaborate with installers and contractors Oversee and coach junior design staff and interns Sales and Product Build and maintain trade vendor relationships through meetings, networking and events Support growth of the furnishings side of the business through thoughtful product selection, expanded vendor relationships, attending markets and events, and opportunities within client projects. Maintain select inventory of product for staging, styling or project use Stay current on design trends and approaches that appeal to our target client Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients Guide clients through selections and decision-making with confidence and clarity Maintain consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle Ensure a high-touch, service-driven client experience Work closely with the Principal Designer, Operations Manager, Cabinetry Studio team, and our partner builders and architects Assist in developing estimates, proposals, and project budgets Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure smooth project execution Who You Are Experience 5+ years of experience in a Senior or Lead Design Role in a residential firm Experience managing and executing multi-room design projects with budgets of 150K+ Strong background in furniture, décor, and finish specification Collaboration with and/or direct supervision of other designers/team members Selection and specification of furniture, drapery, accessories, and remodeling materials Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Experience working with contractors, installers, and vendors Vendor Management and Coordination Strong portfolio demonstrating refined residential design work Strong understanding of residential construction and remodeling processes Professional Demeanor with strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision High attention to detail and process orientation Significant product and vendor knowledge, especially luxury furniture and accessories Proficient in CAD/rendering software like Sketchup, Chief Architect or AutoCAD (Chief Architect preferred) Ability to learn new software and tools quickly and independently (we will provide some training) Estimating Design Time and Budgeting for Materials Organization and Attention to Detail Time Management Project Management and Coordination Microsoft Outlook/One Drive/Dropbox Canva, Adobe, other Creative Tools Additional Expectations Availability for occasional weekend participation during key company events, including the Austin NARI Home Tour and other firm-sponsored events Participation in project installations, styling, and client reveal experiences Occasional attendance at design markets, vendor events, or trade shows outside of standard business hours Travel to local job sites as needed A culture that fosters leadership and independence while providing the goals and support you need to grow in your career Dedicated cabinetry designer, operations and procurement manager, and drafting support Clear role separation so designers can focus on design and client projects Opportunity to grow in responsibility, leadership, and creative ownership as the firm evolves Flexible, boutique studio environment with remote work options Generous Base Salary Retirement stipend based on base salary PTO and 7 paid holidays annually Bonus compensation structure 4 Year degree in Interior Design or Related Field preferred Some studio attendance and in-person staff meetings Availability for occasional evening or weekend events as required (Ex.
